FaithWorks Partners with Rearview Mirror Foundation

The Rearview Mirror Foundation Fund joined hands with the Sparrow's Nest to provide assistance to victims of domestic violence and those with qualifying hardships.

A woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer lost her job and couldn’t pay her bills and care for her son. Another had major surgery and was facing bankruptcy.  Most recently, a woman and her four children escaped a domestic violence situation and are now able to start over.

The partnership between Rearview Mirror and the Sparrow's Nest started just under a year ago, and significant assistance has already helped four families.

Grants from Rearview Mirror provide confidential financial assistance for qualified applicants experiencing economic hardship due to illness or other circumstances beyond the applicant’s control.  Financial assistance helps applicants with housing, utilities, and other basic living expenses, giving them a hand up to rebuild a sustainable future.

Donations can be made directly to the Rearview Mirror Foundation through the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation at Explore Our Funds - Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation.

In 2022, FaithWorks staff and volunteers served record numbers of people through our ministries. At Sparrow’s Nest, we saw a 41 percent increase in families needing food assistance than in 2021, much in part because of the rising cost of food. We also saw a 21 percent year-over-year increase in emergency financial assistance for utilities and prescriptions.

Fortunately, we also had a record number of volunteers come forth to help us serve their neighbors. In total, 129 volunteers worked 10,435 hours offering $288,632 in contributed services. While 136 Mission Team volunteers worked 1,892 hours, a paid work value of $52,332.

We also assisted a higher number of persons transitioning from the streets to safe housing. To view the full 2022 Annual Review, click here: FaithWorks 2022 Annual Review Final-2
