Volunteer Roles
FaithWorks assists persons with cancer diagnoses obtain transportation to and from appointments.
Transportation volunteer: Volunteers will be paired up with cancer patients who need transportation. Volunteer must have a valid drivers license and be willing to drive their personal vehicle.
Open Doors is a transitionary housing program intended to provide participants a home to transition from homelessness to permanent housing and employment. Participants stay in our Open Doors houses for six months as they work to obtain permanent housing.
On Call Maintenance: Open Doors has six homes that need regular maintenance. Open Doors is looking for volunteers willing to do “on call” maintenance work at our locations.
Sparrow’s Nest provides for those who are food insecure and financially insecure.
Afternoon Assistant: Sparrow’s Nest is looking for people to provide afternoon assistance by being on location to receive donations between noon and 4PM. This is a great position for someone looking for a quiet time and place to assist our ministry. Volunteers may also sort and pack food while waiting to receive donations.
Donation Pickup Driver: Sparrow’s Nest needs “on call” volunteers willing to pickup donations when needed. This role requires moderate lifting.
Cancer Network of Hope assists that who have been diagnosed with cancer and lack a family and friends network that can assist with daily needs, such as rides to appointments and encouragement.
Hospitality Volunteer: Cancer Network of Hope is looking for volunteers willing to make homemade meals and/or write letters to those battling cancer.
The Well is a hospitality center for those experiencing homelessness. Guests who come to The Well are provided the opportunity to take showers, do laundry, check mail and email, and find a relaxing environment of mutual respect and dignity.
Well Volunteers: Well volunteers assist staff by helping with front desk and cleaning duties, so that staff may better assist our guests.
